Fred the fish had to come home from work, permanently. he got sick and wouldn’t swim around any more at all. I brought him home, gave him some fish medicine and now he seems to be almost good as new. I’m beginning to think the cleaning people at work, who do not actually clean anything, were poisoning my fishes.

This weekend I made butterscotch oatmeal cookies which Icey didn’t seem to like too much at first, but he saw the light and now thinks they are pretty tasty. I already have the next cookie recipe queued up for this weekend.

This past weekend we went to a birthday party (happy birthday Pam) and this weekend we are going to another birthday party (happy birthday Jenny). We must be getting old because everyone is specifying no gifts and I swear the parties start earlier and earlier every year.

yesterday we bought the Furminator.  Normally I would not spend $40 on a dog brush, but I’d heard good things and this brush was SO worth it.  If you have a dog who sheds as much as my beasts do, then you NEED this brush.    They even make one for cats.   Last night my back yard was full of dog hair, thank god for the breeze.    I just feel sorry for whoever ends up with 10lbs of brown and black dog hair in their backyard.

Yesterday I made chocolate chip cookies from scratch, which I ate for breakfast today.  And I’m making a homemade lasagne for dinner, SERIOUSLY why am I not a housewife?

Today it’s going to be 104*.   Apparently triple digits came late this year, but they decided to come in strong because it’s supposed to break records.   The one good thing about this is that the snowbirds start leaving and the streets and freeways aren’t packed anymore.

I guess you can’t win with me because Fred the neurotic vertical circular swimmer now just lays at the bottom of his tank and blends in with the glass beads.  and that makes me mad too because i spend half my day wondering if he’s dead.   Every half hour or so he swims around and says hello and then goes straight back to laying on the bottom.  

I hope everyone had a good mothers day, including those of you with the four legged fur babies.   I had a tasty steak dinner made especially for me, with roasted potatoes and fresh green beans.  it’s time like that when having a boyfriend who can cook, really pays off.  We also got these tiny chocolate lava cakes that were TO DIE FOR.   especially when i saw that this tiny little cake that was about two inches around and high was 450 calories.   It was worth it.

I recently bought ANOTHER roomba, because again, I’m a glutton for punishment and did not learn from the two previous roomba’s that I do not have good luck with them.  I gave Roomba technology a few years to catch up and decided to try again.   Plus I got it cheap at Target.   It’s by no means replacing my Dyson, it’s just for quick pick ups, mostly on the tile kitchen floor so i don’t have to drag out the big vacuum.   And so far so good.  

What’s really fun is putting dog cookies on it and seeing who will get them.  The voo has no fear so he just takes them and runs. mojo is terrified of the roomba and you can see it in her eyes that this is the worst thing to EVER happen to her.   A cookie she cannot get.    So now when you turn the Roomba on, Voo looks at it to see if there are any cookies on it.  there was a sticker on it that said they welcome software programmers to make their roomba’s do something fun.  I think what Icey needs to do it make it into a remote control roomba and send drinks to me on it.

 The other day I thought I saw this ultimate fighter at my gym.  I’m sure it’ s just wishful thinking but if i see that guy again, i’m getting closer, just to make sure.  

just when i got into the swing of this whole ‘vacation at home’ thing, I had to go back to work.   And then I remembered it’s ‘my time’ and i can do what i want with it when i want, so i took an extra day off.  Which i spent sitting on my couch watching movies on my laptop courtesy of Netflix and then even watched one whilst taking a bubble bath.   So I only had to work two days this week, which suits me just fine.  I am very into this whole watch it now feature that netflix has, i can watch horror movies when i feel like it!!

Today I am going out to eat with my momma for mothers day, a day early.  We (I) like to beat the crowds and every restaurant is going to be insane tomorrow.  hmmmmmm i wonder what *I* am getting for mothers day??  hint, wink, nudge.

i think mojo had a pretty good birthday. She got some raw steak, which i’m pretty sure her and her brother didn’t actually taste. She got to go on a car ride to the petstore where she got some fancy fancy cookies, two pink toys and some real bones that her and voo will get to eat next weekend. what it comes down to is that my dogs have better birthdays than most people i know.

We spent a nice weekend with Icey’s family. It was good to see those we hadn’t seen in a while and also really great to meet some family members i’d never met before.

I had today off of work and I went shopping, watched two movies and played in no less than 4 poker tournaments online. It’s the first time I’ve just sat here in months.

….to be the mother of a SEVEN year old??

Today she’s getting steak and maybe a ride in the car. We might even go to the DOG PARK!!
