The jig is up, the DMV caught on to me and I can no longer be 21 in my drivers license picture.  I have about 2 months to get a new picture taken.  So I guess now is a really good time to decide if I want to change my last name or not.   I’m 50/50 on the whole thing.  I just cannot make up my mind.

It’s a really good thing I’m not afraid of snakes.   Last night mojo cornered a tiny snake in the front room, much like the wee one she cornered in the kitchen a few months ago.

as Icey was trying to herd it outside, it managed to find (of course) a section of the carpet that was pulled away from the wall, and I suppose you can guess what happened next.  We now have a tiny snake living under the carpet in our house.   Icey says it eats bugs, so have at it tiny snake.

I like fridays at the gym because it’s the only day of the week i go into the steam room.  I lay there for about ten minutes or so and relax and plan out my weekend.  But yesterday it wasn’t so relaxing.  a little girl decided she needed to be in the steam room but she didn’t want to go in when anyone else was in there.  and WHY IS THAT LADY LAYING DOWN AND WHY CAN’T I SEE IN THAT ROOM WHAT IS THAT STUFF AND WHY IS SHE STILL IN THERE????   she kept pressing her face up to the glass to try and see in and opening the door about 4 inches and then getting scared and running off.  she was too afraid to walk in with her eyes open.   if you let out too much steam, it kicks on and fills the room again.  so that freaked her out too.   and then omg THAT LADY IS STILL IN THERE, LET ME OPEN THE DOOR TO CHECK AND SEE IF SHE IS STILL IN THERE.   finally someone talked her into just waiting until i came out but by that time i was pretty pissed and just left.  it’s not very relaxing to have the door opened every 30 seconds and having a little girl continuously scream outside the door and knock on the glass.  as soon as she saw me leave she ran up and tried to get in but the door is pretty heavy so she couldn’t do it and then her sister opened the door for her and literally pushed her in and shut the door.  i’m pretty sure i heard screaming.   shouldn’t there be an age minimum for a steam room?

we made it to Joe’s Farm Grill for breakfast last week and this time the place wasn’t packed. It was very hard deciding what to get, so I think we’re going to have to go back a few more time to try more things.  next time………pancakes!  Afterward we drove around the subdivision we want to eventually move to and totally fell in love.  We ARE going to move there.    And we’ll pick the house very carefully because that’s going to be where we live the rest of our lives.  unless we move out of state.  or something.

we also gave the dogs a bath because they stunk and Voo’s hair was getting stiff.  (gross) They are hilarious after a bath.  Mojo runs laps around the house and attacks Voodoo and he just rolls around on the floor very dramatically.

I thought this summer would be the summer i start wearing sundresses, until i tried three on today and kind of looked like angelina jolie carrying twins.   They were just NOT flattering.  Well, better luck next time i guess.

some of the girls and I went out yesterday looking for a wedding dress. I thought I’d get a cute little white tea-length dress but we were having no luck.  We go to Dillards, the last stop and I find an awesome dress for $37.50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  can you even believe that??  it was marked down like 75%.  my shoes actually cost $2 more than the dress.  And then since it was so cheap, it was decided that I should get a dress to change into for the reception.   How can I resist that?

The only traditional route I am taking with this is that Icey is not allowed to see my dress before the wedding. I let him see the reception dress, but that’s it.    The only thing I have to say, is that if you are reading this and will be any where near my wedding, do not wear gold.

everyone was pretty patient with the whole shopping thing, we had lunch together and then shopped some more.   Everyone got new stuff and by the time we called it a day we’d been out and about for 8 hours.

We’ve done a lot of wedding planning in the past two days.  Or really what I should say is that Icey’s mom has done nearly all of the legwork and I just sit here and make a few decisions.   Sure I ordered a cake topper and some announcements but for the most part, she’s taking care of the entire thing.  And for that I am thankful.   We’re going to write a book on how to plan a wedding in 30 days, because after this weekend I think we’ll be nearly finished.   And it only took a week and a half.

So now it’s basically one month and counting.   When am I supposed to start freaking out?

today we went out for lunch to joe’s farm grill. I’ve been meaning to go there and unfortunately we waited until after the place was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, so the place was packed. I’m pretty much in love with this place. I want to eat my next ten meals there. The menu is awesome and the atmosphere is even better. We already have plans to go back next week for breakfast. WAFFLES AND RIBS!!!! And hit up the produce stand. There is also a housing development out there that we have decided we must live in.

Today I’m baking cookies again! This time it’s peanut butter and milk chocolate morsel swirls. I hope these turn out better than the stupid oatmeal raisin.

We also picked up my engagement ring today. I had anxiety all week about it. whether or not I really liked it and if it was the ring I really should have gotten and what if it looked stupid with the diamond I picked………… it was all pretty irrational because the ring looks awesome. It’s pretty much the ring i imagined in my head if i were to ever get an engagement ring.  and then i got one, so that worked out.  it’s a size 3.5 and it’s still too big, i’m going to wait to see if i still need to get it sized after the wedding band is next to it. They resize your ring for free for two years or something, i think that’s because they think people get fat after they get married.

I’m also supposed to go shopping next weekend for my wedding dress. It’s not going to be some big white frilly number. It’s going to be more like an evening gown or bridesmaid dress. and NOT strapless if i can help it.

We’re doing an overhaul of the front room in our house.   We’re not really sure what that room is supposed to be, a formal dining area we guess.  Instead we had random things and all the work out equipment and the Voo’s castle.    My new buffets arrived last week and it took us what felt like an entire day to get those together and clean out the old shelves.   But it was totally worth it because after some more re-arranging, it looks like a whole new room.  But then the buffets that match the wine rack didn’t match the coffee table, so of course I had to order the matching table.  That should arrive today!!  And if it ever goes up for free shipping, the console table shall be mine as well.

Since we were too busy rearranging things, I didn’t have time to bake my cookies over the weekend.   I ended up making them on Tuesday, and note to self, do not make oatmeal raisin with crisco, use real butter.  I was feeling industrious that day so dinner was entirely home-made down to the mashed potatoes.   Icey took a bite and then looked around for the instant packet because he couldn’t figure out what flavor it was.    he says, what kind are these, i said REAL.   

Still going strong with the cookie baking.  I finally got good at it and know how long to bake them and what size to make them. And it takes me practically no time at all.  Last weekend was coconut chocolate chip and I’ve had a request for oatmeal raisin this week.

Spring cleaning is coming late this year.   We’re going to start working on organizing the house and getting rid of some furniture and misc crap we don’t need.  I still have wicker furniture from the 90′s hiding in the guest room.   Anyone want a wicker nightstand, or shelves????  Queen sized comforters anyone?   Would anyone like to buy a smith cage or a recliner?

The gym has been overrun with kids since school got out, they are mostly going to the pool or kids camps but they are ALL OVER the locker room.  and there’s really nothing more annoying than a group of teen girls all texting and giggling about boys while standing right where you need to be.   but one good thing about school being out is clear roads and my car getting 33mpg this past week.

oh and also, Icey and I decided to get married.
