I am finally getting things squared away from my wee tiny accident nearly a month ago. I think the guys insurance company forgot about me so I called them and within a day they sent someone out to write up an estimate. It’s still going to be about another week until I can get my bumper fixed, but I’ll get a free rental for my troubles. In the process I found out that the front desk at my work has no idea who I am, further proving my point that I do not actually exist. They told the adjuster he must have the wrong place because I did not work there. Way to show someone you care after nearly 12 years of service.
Speaking of work, no news on the part time work from home. They are expecting it to start next year????? I’m not sure where these people get their estimates. I’m still not believing it until I’m actually sitting in my loft on a workday, pretending to work.
my baby baby baby boy is going to be 6 (SIX) in 13 days. I can’t believe we’ve had him that long, I swear he’s 2.
I am soooo excited about this election, it’s giving me a heart attack just thinking about it. i’m frustrated and nervous and very very anxious. I voted early so I wouldn’t have to wait in any lines. I think I am going to have to have Icey wake me up in the middle of the night to tell me who won.
5 things (that are not my dogs) that make me happy
1. a pot of hot tea
2. comfy pajamas
3. fall/winter weather
4. hot baths
5. my chocolate chip coconut cookies
finale
I thought that this would be a little easier than posting a few pictures at a time. The only problem I have with Flickr is that it won’t let you arrange the photos how you want them. So looking at the set titled HONEYMOON will be in a slightly better order than how they appear on the front page.
I’d like to tell you about all the great things we did, but they are as follows
1. sit on the beach
(a) read
(b) stare at the water
(c) stalk turtles
2. eat
(a) full breakfast
(b) lunch buffets
(c) dinner that included a buffet cowboy night!
(d) LOTS of sashimi
3. sleep
4. get into the water
(a) float around
(b) snorkel once
(c) kayak once
(d) mostly stick feet into water
5. go to luau get leid again
6. drink a few beers and wine and pina coladas and a gin and tonic (or was that vodka)
we did go to two cocktail hour type things, one was to meet the managers and the other was for honeymooners, of which there were only 4 honeymooning couples at the resort. they were all nice people and still excited to be married.
We had a lot of big plans about things we were going to do but we didn’t do any of them. Every day we woke up and said, maybe tomorrow…
Icey had a first day encounter with Gary, who appears to be the local crazycakes resident. We hear he’s lived there about 4 months, probs to the tune of 15-20k a month. what a great life!
first class is not too shabby, i don’t know how we’re going to go back to flying coach. pffft.
the resort was fairly empty, it’s the off season in Hawaii which is totally ridiculous seeing as how the weather is awesome and the water is warm. I’m not going to complain about having the beach mostly to ourselves.
people in hawaii love it when your last name is japanese.
i’m a little blonder, redder and fatter
The dogs followed us around for a day after we got back, I was so happy to see them.
I can’t believe I have to go to work tomorrow
sneak peak
they called this a partial ocean view room, but i think maybe this is more like an almost completely ocean view room. This is what we saw from our back porch.
front of Hale
and the back of the Hale. the doors on either side are a through and through
view of part of the resort, our hale is off to the right in this picture
these guys come on the beach every day, just to hang out. you also end up swimming with them. There are about 8 of them that come and go. We were fortunate enough to be sitting right near this sign every day. Our room had what I considered to be one of the best locations at the resort.
early
FYI it’s about 3:30 am. After falling asleep at 8pm, I slept 7 hours and DING! i’m awake. I’ve actually been awake since 3am which is ridiculous and spent another half hour just laying there so I decided to get up. I’m pretty sure i’ve never woken up this early, but i have GONE to bed at this time……………
my friday
We’re back to the beach theme, since I mentally checked out of work oh…… 3 hours ago. Today is my Friday and it came at just the right time, because i’m about to go postal up in here.
Tomorrow is shopping, Saturday is cleaning and packing and then bright and super early Sunday morning we’re on our way. I promise you that while i am laying on the beach drinking lots of beer and eating all the sushi i can find, i will not be thinking about you.
madness
I’m going mad waiting for the weekend to get here. I spent the better part of today thinking it was Wednesday and was pretty upset to find out it was only Tuesday. I’m so RAH RAH RAH lets go on vacation, but when the time comes to leave i’ll go and have an anxiety attack about leaving my babies and Icey will push me out of the house. I’ll check the iron, stove, locks, the dogs water bowl, the windows, how many lights are on, where are the instructions for courtney………… Generally I panic and then usually make Icey go back and check everything because I trust him more than myself. Then I have to leave and not say goodbye to the dogs, I just say ‘see you later’ and run.
I moved on from being excited about laying on the beach to being even more excited about the amount of raw fish i plan to stuff into my face. I am srsly hoping this resort has a selection of sushi/sashimi and if not, i will find some. I cannot go to hawaii and not have basically all the sushi i can eat before i throw up. And Icey is super excited to have some moco loco. We watched a food network special on hawaii once and we both decided hawaiian food was def in our future. plus the hawaiians love spam, so i love hawaii.
oh noes the attack leopard is back!
only 6 more days
I spent a good part of yesterday cleaning out the loft area as it’s going to double as my ‘office’ when i finally start working from home. (if I ever get to do that…) A lot of things from that room ended up being put aside for bulk trash at the end of the month, (who has this much stuff?) and then once those things are gone I think we can finally start re-arranging what’s left up there and give it a good cleaning. Next month it’s the guest room that gets worked on. We’re not even sure what’s in that closet.
We went to the zoo Saturday since the weather was so amazing, and of COURSE we came across two tortoises doing it. Which made every single guy laugh his ass off. in case you didn’t know, tortoises do it very loudly. and slow. Have you seen that cell phone commercial where the family is on the nude beach and the little girl goes “why is every body naked?” yeah, i felt like i was in that commercial except the kids were asking “why is he on top of her?” I didn’t stick around to hear the answers.
on my way to work this morning the temperature was 47 degrees, i had to turn the heater on a little bit. it was 68 degrees in my bedroom!
We leave for Hawaii on Sunday. I have a lot of things to take care of before then, but I’m not going to stress out about it. I took Friday off to give myself an extra full day to pack and shop and do whatever else needed doing.
still counting down
heck yeah, 9 days until we are on a plane on our way to Hawaii. My vacation actually starts in one week, so if it were Friday next week instead of this week, I’d be doing pretty much what I am doing right now (chatting with people on gmail) except i’d be at home on my couch. With more coffee and watching TV. The weather in Hawaii is cloudy and semi rainy, but the day we arrive the chance of rain goes down to 0% and the clouds go away. Let’s hope that prediction is correct and that my weather luck continues. The week before our last beach vacation it was abnormally rainy and they had to cancel a lot of activities, and then the week we arrived it was beautiful.
speaking of weather, i’m going into convulsions. Today it’s supposed to be 91 and then over the weekend it drops into the 70′s. I pretty much told the husband we are going to the zoo. We have a membership we can only use 4 months out of the year and i intend to use it!
