things

I'm 35 years old, closing in on 36. I married a younger man (I *think* he's 32). My husband and I have been together 8 years but just got married in July 2008. We have two dogs who are probably the loves of my life. I clean a lot, eat a lot, complain a lot and like to take long walks preferably on a beach, except that we live in Arizona and the closest beach is hours away.

If you are here from ICLW, hello!!!!

The basic rundown of me and who I am is simple.

I do not have children, but I do have two dogs who I treat like children,  probably a little too much.   But I can’t help it, they are SO CUTE!  I don’t know how many people have dogs that understand the words hug and kiss, but mine do.

I met my husband in dive a bar.  I know you’re not ‘supposed’ to do that but I figured I was in that bar and I’m a nice person….

We got married in Vegas July 19, 2008 after dating for six and a half years.  It was technically not an elopement, if you go back a few entries you can see wedding pictures.    I would love love love to get married again, I thought it was great fun.

I watch a lot of TV, I have two DVR’s.    One for the upstairs and one for the downstairs.    I also watch a lot of TV on the internet, I should probably use my tv viewing time for something more productive, like exercise or saving the world.  Or maybe I could just pick up a book once in a while.

I was not born in Arizona but moved here when I was 2,  so I can kind of  be considered a native.   I do love it here but that is because Arizona is the only home I have known.  Right now tho with temps being at least 110* and it being monsoon season, it’s not a fun place to be.     Right now it’s not a dry heat.

I love the water, I love being near or on the water.   Except that as stated above we live in AZ and there’s no real water to be found.   I would love to live in a state that was on the ocean so I could have fresh seafood whenever I wanted.

I like a made bed, mini foods, diet coke, lavendar vanilla scented anything, vacuuming, sushi, the ocean, zombies, UFC and food.

I dislike the trendy bar scene, spray tans,  wearing shorts in public, green olives,  going to work, having a messy house, not being on vacation and staying out late.

I am not a niche blog, I don’t write about any one or two things, I just write about what happens or what I wish would happen.   Sometimes it feels like nothing happens in my life for weeks at a time and then all of a sudden I have a million and one things to write about.

I love your ICLW intro. I think I might do something like this. :)

I love the ocean too but seafood, I don’t eat them much :)

  • Hey Jen! Found you through ICLW.
    You are pretty funny.

I also love a made bed, mini foods, and the ocean. (Mini tastes better!)

I laughed out loud when you said you disliked not being on vacation.

Hi Jen. I’m here from ICLW, too. Great intro. I was actually born in AZ but lived elsewhere for all but 6 years of life (I went to ASU). I’m not sure if that makes me a native or what, lol. I’m probably going to sound really stupid but what are mini foods?

  • Visiting from ICLW! I live in Florida and think the ocean is the greatest thing since sliced bread – along with seafood! :)

No way – you’re the 4th blogger with the exact same anniversary (including myself)! July 19, 2008 must’ve been a great day for a lot of people. :)

I’ve followed you off & on b/c of Busted Kate, but I just wanted to stop by and say hi for ICLW (#91)!

That’s a great intro! Welcome to ICLW – I started 3 months ago and I love it. It also keeps me writing, as I tend to forget. Having 2 kids and 3 cats will do that to a person’s brain. Also, cats rock, but how cuddly they are is more in their personality than trained. Some cats just won’t be cuddly. Others will. It’s kinda luck, in that regard.

Here from ICLW! Love the name of your blog! What would Jen do????

Stopping by from ICLW. I like the title of your blog, I would love to know the story behind the whole title!

My dog knows “hugs”, too! Isn’t it funny how much like people they can become?

I also LOVE the beach. We live in Utah and I always joke with my hubby that we should move somewhere that is much closer to the ocean.

    Happy ICLW!

Hey, I’m here in Arizona too! Isn’t this summer ridiculous!! I’m glad that monsoons are at least cooling things down a little bit!

    Happy ICLW! #50

Yay to not being a niche blog, I find the best blogs are the ones that talk about a variety of things, it keeps it intersting!

We live near the ocean but aren’t big seafood eaters – we prefer to keep fish, rather than eat them LOL
